ANOTHER PEPPER
This was fun to paint but now I think it looks a bit like Christmas with all that red and green. Peppers are cheap and plentiful right now. They are piled in large stacks at the markets these days along with all manner of summer crops. This is the best time to live in Ohio......OH! about that heat and humidity.
I just became a member of http://dailypaintersinternationalartgallery.blogspot.com/ You can view my work on the site as well as many other artists from around the world. Check it out.

PEPPER PLANES
This painting is about seeing and painting planes. The planes that make a two dimensional painting look three
dimensional and creates a feeling of space around an object. I am usually in a battle with myself when I make a painting. I want to accurately represent what I am painting but I still want a feeling of loose brushwork. The battle continues.

DAYLILY/ON HOLD
These orange lillies are growing in large masses along all the roadsides this time of year in our area. They are a little tricky to paint. This one came from my garden but you can find them anywhere right now. I love the yellows, oranges and turquoise together.

PRICKLY
These are beautiful thistles that I found on a recent trip to the 2nd Street Market in Dayton. They were growing between stones in a very old railroad bridge embankment behind the market.Very persistant weeds. I keep a pair of plant nippers in the car for just such opportunities. The market is thriving this time of year with farmers bringing their produce and flowers into town. It is a great place to be on a Saturday morning.
This photo is actually part of a slightly larger painting that will eventually go on my website.
