GERANIUM BASKET 8"X8"

$100
OIL ON MASONITE PANEL

This painting was such a pleasure to work on today. I could almost feel the warmth of June in my studio.....not really. The pleasure part is true.

HONEY JAR 6"X6"

OIL ON CANVAS PANEL

I took cadmium orange off my palette about a month ago to see if I could live without it. I can't! I didn't use much of it in this painting, just a few touches here and there.

My opening at Bear's Mill was Friday March 25th. Julie Clark, who owns the mill and sets up the gallery, did a wonderful job. We had a good crowd and I got to meet some new and old friends.

This is Julie on the left talking with Evie about the upcoming show schedule for the year. Evie is an artist as well as a collector.

Another photo of the gallery and a few of my paintings.

AT LAST 6"X6" SOLD

OIL ON CANVAS PANEL

At last I have some Jonquils blooming in the garden. It is cold and grey outside today but we have had enough warm weather recently to get the bulbs started. It is a pleasant sight.

MORE JELLY BEANS 6"X6"

OIL ON CANVAS PANEL

I took paintings to Bear's Mill today for a show that opens March 25th. My studio is on the lower level of my home so thirty paintings later, carried upstairs and loaded in my car, I was doing some heavy breathing. I hate to admit it but yes, I am out of shape right now.

PEONY 12"X9" OIL ON BOARD. SOLD

This is a painting of a Japanese Peony that grows in my garden. I painted it last summer and it just seems appropriate for this weeks Daily Paintworks Challenge. David Marine has set up an auction style format to bid on paintings with the proceeds going to organizations helping the people of Japan. The starting bid for this painting is $50. I will donate the proceeds to The Red Cross.

WHITE BOWL 6"X6" OIL ON CANVAS PANEL/SOLD

This is my entry for the latest Daily Paintworks challenge. A white object on a print cloth and not using any of the nuetral colors. This cloth has been in my stack of still life props for a long time but this is the first time I've used it. I enjoyed painting it so it will probably show up again soon.

PAINTINGS FOR A SHOW & EVIE'S PAINTING

This is a photo of my studio today after my friend Evie came over and helped me select paintings to put in a show this month. Having another person go through the work with me was very helpful. Evie is an artist and former gallery owner so she has a good eye when it comes to artwork. The opening will be March 25th at BEARS MILL in Greenville. I will post more about the show and opening later.

BEANS 6"X6"

Jelly beans, a sign of Spring to me and one of my favorite snacks. When my mother was still able to go shopping she would frequently buy jelly beans for me to snack on while painting. I know, you aren't supposed to eat around oil paint but a girl needs some sugar for energy.
